Description: It’s the 1950’s and Francois (Vincent Lacoste), a rich student prepping his thesis, and Madeleine (Anaïs Demoustier), a waitress and single mother, meet at the coastal French hotel where she works. They fall in love and get married, but both harbor dark secrets. Madeleine’s son is the product of her affair with a German soldier, which she was humiliated and vilified for after the war, while Francois is gay and constantly fearing he’ll be discovered and arrested.
