Description: Venice, 1939. Portraits of Mussolini are reflected in the oily water of the canals. An elderly art professor Nino loves his young wife Teresa, but doctors have forbidden him to have s#x. Teresa dreams of a young Laszlo, but is not ready to confess to her husband. Nino finds ways to please his wife and writes his thoughts in a diary, leaving the key in a prominent place. The wife accepts his game and responds in kind. Their daughter Lisa, Laszlo’s fiancée, reads both diaries.
